Lester Thurow, the Lemelson Professor of Management and Economics at the Sloan School, will speak on "Making a Global Economy Work When There is No Global Government" at a Technology and Culture Forum event today (April 7) at 5:30pm in Rm. 6-120.
Professor Thurow's current work focuses on the impact of knowledge industries on the global economy, clarifies the discipline of economics for the lay public, and provides informed commentary on policy issues and the state of the economics profession. In his latest book, The Future of Capitalism: How Today's Economic Forces Shape Tomorrow's World (Morrow, 1996), he looks at the changing structure of the global economy and what it will take for individuals, firms and nations to succeed in the new economic game at the end of the century.
