Academic Computing at MIT is co-hosting a day-long symposium on Java, Sun Microsystems, Inc.'s web technology, on Friday, Sept. 25 at the Cambridge Marriott in Kendall Square.
MIT Java Day '98 will feature demonstrations, presentations and discussions on Java advances and applications, with speakers including Dr. Vijay Kumar, director of Academic Computing, who will open the symposium at 8:30am. The event is free, and no pre-registration is required.
Other speakers include Dr. Bud Tribble, vice president of architecture and technology at Sun, "Java Technology in the 21st Century" and Dr. Geoffrey Fox, professor of physics and computer science at Syracuse University, "Java Grande, or Java in High-Performance Computing."
