Family picnic slated for Aug. 31

The second annual family picnic sponsored by the Graduate Student Council (GSC) and spouses&partners@mit will be held on Thursday, Aug. 31 from noon-1:30pm in the President's Courtyard (outside Rm 10-105, accessible from the Infinite Corridor in Building 10 and from Lobby 13). All spouses, partners and children of graduate students, postdocs, visiting scholars, employees and faculty are welcome to attend.

The picnic will feature lunch, music, a play space for children and a special guest appearance by the MIT beaver mascot. The event is an opportunity for new spouses and partners to get to know each other and to meet other families who are already settled in at MIT. Representatives of spouses&partners@mit and the GSC will be available to answer questions about resources at MIT.

New families also can meet other spouses and partners at the information booth in Lobby 10 on Thursday, Aug. 31 from noon-4pm and Friday, Sept. 1 from 10am-noon. Spouses and partners will distribute information about MIT and Boston resources and answer newcomers' questions.

For more information about the family picnic or the information booth, call spouses&partners@mit (an MIT-Medical-sponsored group) at x3-1614.
