Retiree directory due out this month

A new directory of retirees containing more than 650 names and addresses is scheduled to be mailed next week to all retirees who completed the questionnaire circulated over the summer.

In addition to the address listings, the directory includes brief descriptions of some 20 campus services available to the retired population, and two pages of campus extensions for the Benefits Office and the Medical Department.

The questionnaire information forms the basis for a database being assembled in the Office of Special Community Services that will permit mailings targeted to the individual interests of retirees. For example, those who are interested in MITAC events will receive the monthly MITAC flyers, while those who are interested in I/S courses will receive the I/S catalogs. This means that the Association of MIT Retirees can save mailing costs and not bother people with multiple general mailings.

The directory mailing will also include a listing of spring programs planned by the Association. Retirees who did not return the questionnaire may request a copy of the spring program by calling x3-7910.
