The Technology and Culture Forum will host a panel discussion on "On-Line Learning: What Are the Implications for Education?" tomorrow evening (May 7) from 7-9pm in Rm 6-120. The discussion will include perspectives of both the educational and for-profit arenas.
The panelists scheduled to speak are Jack Wilson, professor of physics and professor of engineering science at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and acting dean of the faculty and graduate school; Richard Larson, professor of electrical engineering and director of MIT's Center for Advanced Educational Services; Sonney Taragin (SB '74, mathematics), vice president for technology, Caliber Learning Network, Inc.; and William Durden, president of Sylvan Academy, a division of Sylvan Learning Systems, Inc.
