MIT’s Daron Acemoglu and Simon Johnson win Nobel Prize in Economics

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology will host a virtual press conference with Prof. Daron Acemoglu, Prof. Simon Johnson and President Sally Kornbluth later this morning at 10:00 AM ET following the announcement that Acemoglu and Johnson received the Nobel Prize in Economics for their work on “studies of how institutions are formed and affect prosperity.” Prior to Acemoglu and Johnson’s win this morning, 101 alumni, faculty, researchers and staff at MIT have won Nobel Prizes.
