From high school to the laboratory

More than 160 area high school students and their teachers spent a day at MIT during spring break as part of a science outreach program hosted by the Department of Biology. The daylong event featured hands-on activities and lectures, as well as a chance to see scientists working in their labs. Funded by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, the program was organized by biology instructor Mandana Sassanfar and professor Graham Walker.
