Recycle your sneakers

Rather than tossing worn-out sneakers in the trash, users of the Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center can drop them in one of two recycling bins at the Vassar Street and duPont lobby entrances. The bins were placed as part of the Reuse-A-Shoe program sponsored by Nike and the National Recycling Coalition. Old sneakers are collected and ground up; the material is then used to make surfaces for playing fields, tracks, indoor courts and weight rooms. See http://www.nike.com/nikebiz for details.
