Recycle rechargeable batteries

MIT offers a way to recycle rechargeable batteries, which are commonly found in cordless power tools, cellular and cordless phones, laptop computers, camcorders, digital cameras and remote-control toys.

To recycle nickel cadmium, nickel metal hydride, lithium ion and lead-acid batteries (under two pounds), drop them off at the supply room window in Room E19-111 weekdays between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Alkaline batteries may be thrown out in the regular trash.

For more information about this program, or about how to use more rechargeable batteries in your lab or office to support pollution prevention efforts at MIT, e-mail be-green@mit.edu.
