Medical examiner rules Julia Carpenter's death at MIT was a suicide

The Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner has determined the death on April 30 of MIT student Julia M. Carpenter was a suicide, caused by acute cyanide poisoning. "This news confirms a terrible tragedy," said MIT spokesperson Kenneth Campbell. "Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends in their grief."
