ATO party results in alcohol citations

Campus Police broke up an unauthorized party of about 100 at the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity on New Year's Eve, arresting four non-MIT partygoers and issuing citations to an MIT freshman and sophomore for providing alcohol to minors.

Charges of trespassing and disorderly conduct against the four non-MIT youths were dismissed in Cambridge District Court on January 3.

Sanctions for the citations include a fine and an alcohol education session and meeting with a dean. The Interfraternity Council and the Dean's Office will determine sanctions against ATO, located at 405 Memorial Drive in Cambridge. The MIT students cited are both members of the fraternity.
