Athletics announces new personnel

Director of Athletics Dr. Richard A. Hill has announced the hiring of two new head coaches and a new coordinator of athletic training services.

George Rollins has been named coach of softball. He is a 1973 graduate of West Point and has coached softball at various levels for more than 10 years.

Carol Matsuzaki will take over the reins of the women's tennis program. Ms. Matsuzaki, a 1996 graduate of MIT and former team captain, served as junior varsity coach during the fall 1997 semester, and was a volunteer assistant in the program in 1996-97.

Cristine Monterroso has recently assumed the duties of coordinator of athletic training services. She has been a member of the MIT athletic training staff since 1995.
