MIT freshman found unconscious in frat house, taken to Beth Israel Hospital

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.-An MIT freshman was found unconscious in his fraternity house room and taken to Beth Israel Hospital early Saturday by the Boston Emergency Medical Service.

The student, Scott Krueger, 18, of Orchard Park, N.Y., was in the hospital's coronary care unit Saturday night.

MIT Campus Police received a call from the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity house, 28 the Fenway, Boston, at 11:56pm Friday and were told that Krueger was unconscious. MIT Police called 911 and Boston Police, Fire Department and EMS officers responded.

Krueger's parents were notified.

"We're obviously very concerned," said Margaret R. Bates, MIT's Dean for Student Life. "Our thoughts are with the family."

The fraternity has been suspended pending the results of an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, including whether alcohol was involved.
