The last two years' of faculty minutes, including agendas and their attachments and meeting minutes, are now on-line from the Institute Archives.
"Since the late 1970s, the Institute Archives has been responsible for collecting, preserving and indexing the records of the faculty as part of its responsibility to preserve MIT's administrative history," said Helen Samuels, Institute archivist. "Putting them on-line will make them more accessible and easier to use."
The minutes have their own URL, , or they can be accessed through the Libraries, Archives and MIT home pages. The records can be searched by topic or browsed by date, and include supporting documents that range from announcements of awards to long reports on curricular changes and academic policy.
The electronic minutes will be kept up to date as material becomes available. Paper versions of the documents will continue to be held in the Archives.
