MIT Presence at Congressional Hearing on Medical Technology Development

CAMBRIDGE, Mass--Massachusetts Institute of Technology faculty members and staff will participate in a hearing and fair on medical technology sponsored by the House Science Committee on Thursday, November 2, in Washington, DC.

There will be two panels on Medical Technology Development and Commercialization from 9am to 1pm. The first will be faculty and staff from MIT and other universities; the second will be chief executive officers and others representing medical technology manufacturers.

Among the MIT participants will be Dr. Ian V. Hunter, D'Arbeloff Scholar and associate professor of mechanical engineering, and Dr. Kenneth Kaplan, principal research scientist in architecture.

Following the panels, a medical technology fair will demonstrate cutting-edge technology, including remote diagnostic systems.
