Raymond S. Stata ’57, chairman and cofounder of Analog Devices Inc., will deliver the address at MIT’s 144th Commencement exercises taking place this Friday, June 4, in Killian Court.
Stata, a pioneer in the semiconductor industry, received both his SB and SM in electrical engineering from MIT. Elected to the MIT Corporation in 1984, Stata remains a life member emeritus, as well as a member of the Development Committee. In 1997, he and his wife, Maria, made a generous financial gift to the Institute that enabled the construction of the Ray and Maria Stata Center, which opened in 2004.
Admission to MIT's Commencement exercises for ticketed guests begins at 7:30 a.m. Graduates will robe and assemble on the second floor of Johnson Athletic Center beginning at 7:30 a.m. Following the exercises, a reception will be held for graduates and their guests on the Kresge Oval.
A special hooding ceremony for PhD recipients will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 3, in the Rockwell Cage in the Johnson Athletics Center.
