Did you know that MIT employees can use their MIT ID cards to get a cup of coffee, a roast beef sandwich or a book on physics?
The new TechCASH program offered by Enterprise Services allows MIT employees to make purchases all over campus using the MIT ID. These purchases are then payroll-deducted at the end of each pay period. All employees on the regular payroll are eligible to enroll in TechCASH; there is no cost to participate.
TechCASH, which evolved from the student meal-plan system, is adding more features and participating merchants. In addition to all MIT dining facilities, TechCASH can be used at all CopyTech locations, LaVerde's Market in the Stratton Student Center, the MIT Press bookstore and some vending machines around campus. Quantum Books will be accepting TechCASH very soon; other vendors will be added.
Participants in TechCASH can also view recent purchases, check their balances and suspend their accounts via the web site.
To enroll in TechCASH, contact the TechCASH office by visiting Room E32-117, calling 253-2815 or e-mailing techcash@mit.edu and requesting a payroll deduction authorization card
