Campus construction update

BUILDING 3

Excavation in preparation for installation of fire protection service to Building 3 may result in some jackhammer noise before 9 a.m. There may also be some intermittent noise from trucks and an air compressor. This project should be finished by the end of September.

HAYDEN LIBRARY

The new circulation area is now open. Work continues on the 24-hour study space, which will open later this fall. The after-hours book drop will be installed in October. Signs and lighting for the main entrance are nearing completion.

SIMMONS HALL

Life safety systems are all operational and fire exit paths have been completed. The sidewalk in front of the building has received temporary pavement and the curbs have been reinstalled. Temporary fencing has been installed in areas where construction access is still required at the back and sides of the building.

PACIFIC STREET

Installation of a water main on Pacific Street running from Sidney Street to Albany Street may result in parking and traffic disruption. Water service should not be affected by the work. Work will continue for several weeks.

STATA CENTER

Structural steel beam installation is ongoing in preparation for the start of exterior metal panel erection. Concrete placement for the amphitheater is complete. Now being installed are the below-grade supports for the exterior stairs leading to the raised garden; exposed pipes on Levels P2 through 4; interior masonry, HVAC, plumbing and fire protection; and exterior brickwork.
