The Campus Police Crime Prevention Unit, in conjunction with the Governor's Auto Theft Strike Task Force, will conduct its annual antitheft car window-etching program on Friday, May 12 from 8:30am-2:30pm.
The 20-minute process involves chemically etching car windows with the vehicle identification number, which results in a reduction of up to 15 percent on participants' comprehensive auto insurance in Massachusetts for cars without other antitheft devices.
The window-etching will be done behind the Johnson Athletics Center (enter from Vassar Street across from the West Garage). No appointment is necessary. Participants must bring their automobile registrations and $10 cash. The program will be canceled in the event of heavy rain.
