Predoctoral students are invited to apply for summer 1998 internships and/or 1998-99 fellowships offered by the Program in Transnational Security Issues funded by the MacArthur Foundation.
The focus of the program is personal and group security and trans-national society, which connotes that either the source of the perceived or actual threat is abroad, or that the solution to the threats would involve transnational networks or organizations.
Proposals may, for example, address the effect of economic global-ization, refugee flows, cross-border ethnic conflict, international efforts at conflict resolution, etc. Students with relevant research interests from any discipline are encouraged to apply.
Summer internship stipends of up to $6,000 will be available; 1998-99 fellowships will provide full tuition and stipend.
