Lo to speak at investment/retirement fair

This year's Investment and Retirement Fair on Thursday, Oct. 16 will include a presentation by Professor Andrew W. Lo, the Harris and Harris Group Professor at the Sloan School, on "Investing: The Opportunities and Pitfalls of the Stock Market." The fair will be at noon in the Student Center's Twenty Chimneys.

At 1:30pm, David Scudder, the portfolio manager of the MIT Retirement Plan's Variable and Fixed Fund, will discuss the management of the MIT funds. There will also be a presentation on Social Security at 9am, "The Index Fund Advantage" presented by Vanguard at 10am; "Choosing Your Investment Mix with TIAA-CREF" at 11am; "Your TDA Retirement Options" with Prudential at 3pm and "Asset Allocation" by Fidelity at 4pm.

Representatives from Fidelity, Vanguard, TIAA-CREF and Prudential will be available all day in Mezzanine Lounge to answer questions on tax-deferred annuities and investment. There will also be a raffle.

Lincoln Lab will have its investment and retirement fair on Wednesday, Oct. 15. Anyone with questions on the Lincoln Lab event may call Kathleen Avison at 181-7060.
