A partnership of global programs at MIT is looking for current students, faculty, and staff to share images of their MIT-related travel.

There’s an alphabet soup of players involved: Global Education (GECD), MIT International Science and Technology Initiative (MISTI), the Public Service Center (PSC), the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP), and D-Lab (Development through Dialogue, Design & Dissemination).

The question these groups are asking, per the contest website, is “How does the MIT community engage in study, research, public service, and work around the globe?”

Submissions of images that showcase the many ways the Institute extends beyond the Cambridge campus are welcome from across the MIT community. Participating departments are offering prizes to winners in four categories, including for the most shared photo using the hashtag #etmundus.

Playing on the MIT motto “mens et manus” ("mind and hand" in Latin), “et mundus” means “and world” and was suggested by MIT faculty to “emphasize the importance of a global perspective to the Institute.”

The four winners will each receive an Amazon gift card for $250. Winners will be announced at the Go Global Fair on Sept. 9, 2014.
