On Monday, Sept. 11, the MIT Police Department honor guard will conduct a remembrance honoring all those who were killed five years ago in the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
The guard will assemble at the steps of the Stratton Student Center and stand at attention at 8:46 a.m. and 9:03 a.m., the moments when Flights 11 and 175 struck each of the two World Trade Center towers in New York.
The U.S. flag on Killian Court will be lowered to half-staff and will remain at half-staff all day.
Students will lead a candlelight vigil at 8 p.m. at the Student Center. On Sept. 14, students will hold a public discussion about Sept. 11 and life following the attacks at 7:30 p.m. in the Zesiger Center Media Room (W35-199).
