The MIT 150th anniversary celebration will officially begin with a community preview of the MIT150 exhibition at the MIT Museum on Friday, Jan. 7. Alumni, faculty, staff and students are invited to the MIT Museum for a reception and exhibition preview from 3-5 p.m.
Because of the expected snow on Friday, a shuttle bus will run between 77 Massachusetts Avenue and the Museum from 2:45-5:30 p.m.
The exhibition displays 150 objects that represent the Institute over the 150-year sweep of its history. A community-wide nominating process helped determine many of the objects in the exhibition and also prompted much reflection about what has made the MIT environment so distinctive and innovative over the last 150 years.
The MIT150 exhibition will open to the public beginning on Saturday, Jan. 8.
