Wong named STLE fellow

The Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE) named Victor W. Wong, a principal research scientist in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and manager of the Sloan Automotive Laboratory, a fellow of the Society at its May 18 annual meeting.

Wong was nominated by the STLE Fellows Committee and selected based on his having made "outstanding and recognized contributions to the sciences and engineering in research in the field of lubrication." In his 24 years at MIT, Wong has co-founded two research consortia in lubrication, including the more recent consortium on the interactions of lubricant/additives on engine durability and diesel engine emission aftertreatment systems.

Wong is already a fellow of the Society of Automotive Engineers and of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and has recently been named an associate editor of Tribology Transactions, STLE's prestigious journal of technical publications.
