Rethinking water

An Institute-wide workshop to identify common interests, collaborative opportunities and funding for research and teaching related to water-oriented work will take place in Kirsch Auditorium this week.

"Rethinking Water: A Critical Resource", a two-day event, will begin Thursday evening, May 20, (6-8 p.m.) and continue on Friday, May 21, (9 a.m. - 5 p.m.). Thursday's opening keynote address will be given by Charles Duhigg of The New York Times, author of their ongoing series Toxic Waters.

The event is sponsored by the MIT Environmental Research Council; the deans of all five schools; the MIT Energy Initiative; the MIT Earth System Initiative; the Department of Mechanical Engineering; and the Aga Khan Program for Islamic Architecture.
