MIT Lincoln Laboratory named a bicycle-friendly business

Designation recognizes commitment to employees, environment

MIT Lincoln Laboratory has been honored as a "gold-level" bicycle-friendly business by the League of American Bicyclists, an organization founded to promote bicycling for recreation and transportation.

Andy Clarke, president of the league, says bicycle-friendly businesses "demonstrate a commitment to encouraging healthy lifestyles, creating more affordable transportation, and leading the way in sustainable business practices and environmental stewardship."

Lincoln Laboratory earned a gold designation for its strong support of employees who bicycle to work. "This award is quite special because it is based on a rigorous set of criteria," says Terry Gleason, a bicyclist who is active in Lincoln Laboratory's bike group.
