International Development Fair this Friday

The International Development Fair provides incoming and continuing MIT students, recent graduates and members of the MIT community an opportunity to learn about ways that they can become engaged in international development through student groups, non-profit organizations, academic course offerings and other activities on and around MIT's campus.

The ninth annual fair will take place from 1-3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 24, on the Student Street in the Stata Center. Groups and organizations of all types will set up booths to display their development projects.

Created to expand opportunities in international development for the MIT community — in particular for students — the International Development Initiative provides tangible assistance to developing regions in these key areas:
  • Defining community needs;
  • Finding appropriate design solutions;
  • Implementing and disseminating technologies;
  • Maintaining relationships with community partners;
