Initiative on Faculty Race Issues: Preliminary Report

A core team of faculty representing MIT's five schools has submitted a preliminary report on the Institute's new initiative on faculty race issues, Provost L. Rafael Reif announced in a letter to the faculty e-mailed today.

The report provides detailed recommendations on how MIT can undertake a comprehensive, rigorous, and systematic study of these issues. The team has also recommended a number of specific administrative actions that might be taken before the completion of the full study process.

The report is available at mit.edu/provost/reports/RaceInitiative07162007.pdf.
