Reception today honors Alice Gast

A reception will be held today to honor Alice P. Gast, vice president for research and associate provost, at the Broad Institute.

Gast will become president of Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa., on Aug. 1.

A chemical engineer specializing in complex fluids and colloids, Gast came to her current post at MIT from Stanford University in 2001. She also served as the Robert T. Haslam Professor of Chemical Engineering.
