The MIT Sport Taekwondo Club raised $3,029 at a Kick-a-Thon on May 10 during which sponsors supported club members by the kick or by the number of wooden boards broken. Members did 1,000 kicks and broke 58 boards. Half of the money will go toward the club's competition costs and half will be donated to Special Olympics.

Sport Taekwondo was recently recognized as an MIT Club Sport. The MIT team won first place in the Ivy/Northeast Collegiate Taekwondo League this year, beating out Cornell, NYU and Harvard. The club competed in six tournaments.
