The Deshpande Center is planning its first faculty workshop on starting a company on Wednesday, Feb. 5.
The faculty workshop will provide practical information tailored to the needs of faculty members interested in commercializing technology, including a forum for discussing issues unique to starting companies and an opportunity to network with other faculty with similar entrepreneurial interests. There will be a short talk by Professor Robert Langer on how he started numerous successful companies while on the MIT faculty. Lunch will be provided.
Faculty members with or without startup experience are welcome. Based on the response to the first workshop, the event may become an ongoing series. For an invitation, e-mail deshpandecenter@mit.edu.
The Deshpande Center for Technological Innovation was founded a year ago to support research on novel technologies in collaboration with the high technology and venture capital communities of New England.
