Inkjet cartridges can now be recycled

Used inkjet cartridges used in printers, fax machines and other devices can now be recycled in a program that financially benefits MIT.

Under an arrangement by the Department of Facilities in partnership with Enviro Smart/AAA Environmental, Inc., MIT community members may mail used inkjet cartridges in preaddressed, prepaid mailing bags that are now available in all Distributed Mail Centers. The cartridges will go to a retrieval center operated by AAA Environmental, which will pay MIT for each cartridge in good condition. The program also keeps the plastic cartridges out of landfills.
