Telephone directories being distributed

The MIT Faculty and Staff Directory and the Student Directory are now available in the Institute's 37 distributed mail centers.

Student Directories are being delivered to residence halls, fraternities, sororities and independent living groups. Students who live off campus may get copies by showing ID at the Information Center in Room 7-121. Extra copies of either directory may be obtained by e-mailing referencepubs@mit.edu, specifying the number of copies required.

The cover images show some of the results of using computational fluid dynamics to analyze wind flows in an environment (in this case, the MIT campus) and laser-induced fluorescence to track the movement of lubricating oil in an engine cylinder. These are among several recent studies at the Laboratory for Energy and the Environment to learn more about the environmental impacts of human activities and about cleaner, more efficient energy use. The covers were designed by Victor Park from the Publishing Services Bureau.

Old directories and catalogues can be recycled in desk-side bins or the blue-top bins in common areas around campus. For more information on recycling, call Kevin Healy at 253-6360 or send e-mail to recycling@mit.edu.
