Religious leaders to be at lunch events

The MIT Board of Chaplains is sponsoring a series of monthly lunchtime conversations with religious leaders from various traditions as part of an extended response to Sept. 11 and its aftermath.

In the "The Future of Faith" series, the chaplains plan to investigate questions such as: Are religious institutions relevant to our postmodern world? Is there any good news about religion today? Why be a religious person when religious groups are so imperfect? Why have faith in anything in a world filled with so much suffering?

The first event will be led by Steve Charleston, dean of the Episcopal Divinity School, on Oct. 4 from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Stratton Student Center's Room 491. Bring your own lunch. The chaplains will provide beverages and cookies.
