Volvo CEO to give talk on environmental strategy

On Wednesday, March 7, Leif Johansson, president of AB Volvo and CEO of the Volvo Group, will deliver the Wallenberg Lecture on Sustainability and the Environment, speaking about his company's environmental business strategy. His talk, "Environmental Issues As Part of Business Strategy," will take place in Wong Auditorium from 4-5:30pm.

With the global harmonization of legislation, rapid technical developments and an increasing number of customers with environmental awareness, opportunities open for the transport-related industry to contribute to a sustainable society, while maintaining favorable profitability. The Volvo Group seeks to play an important role in achieving these objectives. Mr. Johansson's biography is on line.

The event, which is sponsored by Wallenberg Foundation Fellowship Program and the MIT Council on the Environment, is free and open to the MIT community. There will be time for questions and a reception with refreshments afterwards.
