Vendor fair starts tomorrow

A two-day vendor fair starting Sept. 13 will give the MIT community a chance to visit with more than 100 of the Institute's outside suppliers and internal providers, who will be displaying their products and answering questions.

The fair, sponsored by Procurement, will be held under a tent on McDermott Court (rain or shine) on Thursday, Sept. 13 for scientific and laboratory vendors (lab apparatus, chemicals, electronic components, compressed gas, etc.) and on Friday, Sept. 14 for vendors of office and computer supplies, temporary help, furniture, etc. Hours on both days will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Staff from Institute providers including the Copy Technology Centers and Facilities will be available to answer questions. There will also be a recycling booth, demonstrations of the web-based ECAT system and information on SAPweb and the new enhancements on the horizon.

Procurement staff members will be on hand to discuss what's new in procurement and new partnerships being developed. They will also have applications for those wishing to sign up for the MIT VIP credit card for small transactions (applicants will need a signature from an authorized person in their department, lab or center).

Refreshments will be available. For more information, call Diane Shea, director of Procurement, at x3-8370.
