Grad students eligible for credit union membership

Membership in the MIT Federal Credit Union (MITFCU) is now open to all MIT graduate students, as the result of recent decisions by the credit union's board of directors and its regulating agency, the National Credit Union Administration. Before this change, only graduate students who were research assistants or teaching assistants could join the credit union.

"MITFCU looks forward to welcoming many new members from the graduate student body," said Paul L. Bergonzi, MITFCU CEO and treasurer, in announcing the new rules. "We believe that, with our extensive range of reasonably priced financial products, we are uniquely suited to meet their needs."

The credit union is located on campus in Rm E19-437, x3-2844, and at Lincoln Laboratory in Building A, Rm 100, (781) 981-2361. The hours are 8:30am-3pm.
