Rebecca Vest recovering

Rebecca M. Vest is recovering after suffering cardiac arrest early Saturday morning at the President's House.

Kathryn Willmore, vice president and secretary of the Corporation, reported Tuesday morning, "Becky has made remarkable progress, astounding the doctors and everyone else. She is awake and breathing on her own, her heart is now beating without assistance, and she is now talking readily with her family and doctors -- all excellent signs. The doctors attribute much of her recovery to the extraordinary response by Campus Police and emergency teams on Saturday morning."

Ms. Willmore added that President Charles M. Vest "wants everyone to know that he and his family are deeply grateful for all of the expressions of concern and the thoughts and prayers that have been sent their way."
