The Boston Licensing Board (BLB) has postponed the hearing on Sigma Nu's application to transfer its dormitory license to 28 The Fenway in Boston, the former site of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity house.
The hearing, originally scheduled for last Wednesday, will he held on March 31 at Boston City Hall. It was postponed to allow representatives of the Sigma Nu chapter and house corporation to meet with Fenway community groups and neighbors.
Sigma Nu, which has never been cited for BLB violations, is an alcohol-free fraternity with a tradition of community service. Currently located in cramped quarters at 523 Newbury St. in the Back Bay, Sigma Nu hopes to relocate in the fall to 28 The Fenway, which has space for 44, more than enough to accommodate Sigma Nu's 27 members.
