The Center for Innovative Minimally Invasive Therapy (CIMIT) announces that faculty research awards of up to $75,000 in direct costs are available for studies that explore new technologies or concepts in the area of minimally invasive therapy and diagnosis.
CIMIT is a consortium of MIT, the Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women's Hospital and Draper Laboratories. HST is working on several fronts to provide opportunities for MIT faculty to learn more about medical challenges being addressed by CIMIT and how they might participate in addressing those problems. CIMIT has identified five clinical focus areas around which to organize promising projects and drive its research agenda: cardiovascular disease, cancer, stroke, trauma and critical care, and new initiatives.
MIT faculty members at the level of instructor, research scientist or higher are eligible to apply as principal investigators. The deadline for preliminary applications is December 1; full applications are due January 14, 2000 and proposals are due March 1.
