MIT's vendors to show products

More than 80 of MIT's suppliers will display their products and answer questions at a vendor fair on Thursday, Oct. 1. The fair will be in an outdoor tented area in the center of campus from 9am-3pm.

The Vendor Fair, sponsored by the Procurement Department, will provide an opportunity for vendors and MIT community members to discuss how to achieve the Institute's supplier-consolidation goals. Those goals include reducing the cost of obtaining goods and services while enhancing the quality of those services to the community.

Through demonstrations of the Web-based ECAT system, attendees can also see improvements in processing small-dollar purchases. There will also be booths with information on the Copy Technology Centers, Mail Services and MIT's new VISA purchasing card.

Vendors of office and computer supplies, laboratory apparati, chemicals, solvents, enzymes, electronic components, small equipment, furniture, office furnishings, temporary help and compressed-gas cylinders will be on hand. Refreshments will be provided. For more information, call Diane Shea at x3-8370.
