Furniture Exchange invites donations

The MIT Student Furniture Exchange (FX), the Women's League service that sells used furniture at bargain prices to students, is looking for good, serviceable donations to add to its inventory.

The FX needs upholstered furniture (sofas, hide-a-beds, chairs), tables for home and office, bookcases and shelves, desks and file cabinets, beds and futons, dressers and cabinets and household goods of all kinds, including small appliances in good working order, cookware, dishes and glassware, lamps, bric-a-brac and objets d'art, paintings, posters, prints, antiques, rugs, children's items and more.

The FX is staffed by Women's League volunteers. All profits support student scholarships at MIT and all donations are tax-deductible.

Hours are 10am-4pm, Tuesday and Thursday, and 10am-1pm on the first Saturday of each month. The FX is located in the rear of Building WW15 at 350 Brookline St., where the BU Bridge meets Memorial Drive. Parking is available. Pick-ups of large donations can sometimes be arranged. For more information, call x3-4293.
