Retirees directory to be mailed

The Association of MIT Retirees expects to mail copies of its 1997-98 directory to members this week.

With some 850 entries, the new directory includes about 200 more names than last year. It also has a revised section on Institute resources available to retirees and a two-page listing of the new area codes for eastern Massachusetts.

The directory will be mailed to those who renewed their membership or joined in response to a questionnaire circulated last summer to about 2,800 retirees with New England addresses. Members who failed to renew will also receive a mailing telling them that the directory will be sent to them if they send in their membership fee ($10).

Retirees based outside New England may also request a copy of the directory for $5, Make checks payable to MIT and mail to the Association of MIT Retirees, MIT Rm 20A-023, 77 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge, MA 02139-4307.

Accompanying both mailings will be a trial issue of a newsletter bringing members up to date with the Association's activities, particularly the fall seminar on housing choices to be held Wednesday, Nov. 19 at 11am in the Bartos Theater (see Senior Focus in the Institute Calendar, page 4).
