Mail Tip #5

(Tech Talk is presenting a series of suggestions devised by the reengineering Mail Team to help our large community make better use of the mails.)

Nothing speeds delivery of mail as much as accurate, up-to-date zip codes. Make sure the zip codes in your mailing lists and address books are accurate and include the full nine digits.

Help is available at MIT for mailing-list maintenance, including zip+4 updating, postal barcoding, and identification of non-valid US Postal Service addresses. For general consulting on mailings and maintaining mailing lists, call Graphic Arts at x3-4765. For help with mailing lists maintained and generated on the MITVMA/C mainframe, call Client Services at x3-7230.
