MIT has been named to the number two spot in Times Higher Education’s world reputation rankings, reports Times Higher Education. MIT is “dedicated to the teaching of science and technology. The sheer number of Nobel laureates affiliated with the institution – an impressive 101 – reveals the caliber of MIT graduates,” Times Higher Education notes. “Scientific discoveries and technological advances to come out of the college include the first chemical synthesis of penicillin, the development of radar, the discovery of quarks and the invention of magnetic core memory, which aided the development of digital computers.”
MIT has been named to the Wall Street Journal and College Pulse list of the 2024 top midsize colleges in the Northeast, reports Gerard Yates for The Wall Street Journal. Rankings are based on three factors: Student outcomes, the learning environment and the diversity of a school’s students and faculty, Yates explains.
MIT was “more highly recommended by its students than any other school in the Northeast,” according to the Wall Street Journal / College Pulse 2024 Best Colleges in the U.S. “The Wall Street Journal commissioned a survey of more than 60,000 college students and recent graduates, conducted by College Pulse, to gather their views on the learning environment at their school,” writes The Wall Street Journal. “As part of that survey, respondents ranked how highly they would recommend their college.”
MIT has been named to Times Higher Education’s 2024 World’s Best Universities list, reports Cecilia Rodriguez for Forbes. “The largest edition of the World University Rankings 2024 includes 1,904 universities—up from 1,799 last year—from 108 countries and regions, assessing research-intensive universities across 18 performance indicators covering their core missions of teaching, research, knowledge transfer and internationalization,” writes Rodriguez.
