Physics department head honored for diversity efforts

Bertschinger to receive honor from MAES-Latinos in Engineering and Science
Edmund Bertschinger, head of the Department of Physics, will receive the Outstanding MAEStro Award from MAES-Latinos in Engineering and Science at its annual symposium in Las Vegas on Friday, Oct. 12.

The award recognizes individuals for their proactive and supporting efforts to increase the number of Latino students successfully completing high school and pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees.
