In this video from MIT150's "Elemental MIT" series, Institute faculty, administrators and students share their thoughts on how innovation can fuel U.S. economic growth — a topic highlighted in President Barack Obama's State of the Union address on Tuesday.

In his speech, the president noted that "maintaining our leadership in research and technology is crucial to America’s success," and encouraged an increase in funding for projects that are innovative and tackle the country's most pressing problems.
