April 13 memorial service for J. Mark Schuster

A memorial service for J. Mark Schuster will be held in Bartos Theater at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 13, followed by a reception in the adjacent atrium.

Schuster, who passed away Feb. 25 at the age of 57, was a professor of urban studies and planning who joined the MIT faculty in 1978. He was an expert on arts funding policies and a respected leader of First Night and other Boston cultural events.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Night Boston (www.firstnight.org). Members of the DUSP community wishing to offer condolences or to send remembrances and other thoughts to be shared at the service or reception may contact Charlotte Harrison at chharris@fas.harvard.edu.
