Deadline for MITFCU scholarships, award this Friday

Applications for six memorial scholarships and nominations for the People Helping People Award--both awarded by MIT Federal Credit Union--are due this Friday, March 28.

The six $1,000 scholarships will be given to students pursuing undergraduate degree programs during the 2008-2009 school year. Candidates will be judged based on an essay contest, grades, financial need and involvement in extracurricular and community activities. The student or his/her parent or guardian must be a member in good standing with MITFCU.

The People Helping People Award gives $2,000 to one member of the MIT community who exemplifies a commitment to helping others achieve their best. The recipient must be a member in good standing with MITFCU, and a second $2,000 award is given to a charity of the award recipient's choice.

For more information on either award, or to obtain nomination forms for the People Helping People Award, go to www.mitfcu.org.
